Why GPs use it

Most family doctors do not diagnose ADHD. They refer, and the patient waits for months. Even more than this, many of those patients never make the appointment, and the referral is where their care ended.

A complete assessment needs five things: structured developmental history, scored scales, collateral report, impairment across settings, and a differential. Sunbeam delivers four of them as a clinician-ready report. The fifth, the clinical interview, is yours, and it fits in the appointment you already have.

Now GPs can confidently assess ADHD within a session. The patient stops waiting, and you keep them: titration visits, follow-ups, and the accommodation letters Sunbeam generates for work, school or testing, which you bill as the uninsured service it already is.

No time

Not trained on adult ADHD
Every piece of evidence is mapped to the DSM-5 criterion it supports, so a complete workup is laid out in front of you rather than recalled.

Anxiety, mood and substance use are screened during intake, and anything that scores positive is flagged in the briefing.
Complex cases feel risky

The one optional paid item

To keep Sunbeam free forever, we charge only for an optional accommodation report, at a reduced rate for clinicians. Workplace, school and testing letters.

You bill the patient at your usual rate for an uninsured letter. It is a line item you already have, written faster.

Privacy

Sunbeam is built for Canadian practice. PHIPA in Ontario, PIPEDA federally, and data held in Canada. Everything runs on Amazon Web Services under a signed data processing addendum, so there is one vendor to review and one set of agreements.

PHIPA (Ontario)
Under Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act, the clinician remains the health information custodian. Sunbeam acts as a service provider, handling information only on the custodian's instructions and only for the purpose it was collected.
PIPEDA and provincial law
Outside Ontario, the same processing falls under PIPEDA or the equivalent provincial health privacy statute. We will sign the written agreement your province or college requires.
Data residency
Canadian practices are provisioned in AWS Canada (Central), so data stays in Canada. Residency is set per customer, and we tell you in writing which region yours runs in.
Personal health information
We do not retain personal health information in the Sunbeam product environment. Your patient's record stays yours.
Model inference
Zero data retention. Inference runs inside the AWS boundary on Amazon Bedrock, which does not store your prompts or completions, does not share them with model providers, and does not use them to train foundation models.
Clinical Scribe audio
Transcribed on Amazon Transcribe within the same boundary.
Data processing addendum
We have signed the AWS Data Processing Addendum, which sets the processing, security, and subprocessor terms for the AWS services we use.
HIPAA
Not relevant to Canadian practice, and held for US expansion. For US-regulated processing AWS performs as our subprocessor, we maintain a signed Business Associate Agreement covering eligible services.
